13yo girl who had to collect boxes at bazaar in Osh to provide family nominated for International Children’s Peace Prize

Aychurek Sulaimanova, a 13-year-old girl from Osh who was forced to collect boxes at a bazaar for a living and to provide her family, was nominated for The International Children’s Peace Prize founded by the KidsRights Foundation, the Center for Protection of Children said.

The International Children’s Peace Prize is awarded annually to a child who fights courageously for children’s rights. All winners have shown a remarkable commitment to combating problems millions of children face worldwide. 169 children were nominated this year, the winner will be announced in November.

Aychurek was nominated for raising awareness for the child labor problem. She had to collect boxes at the bazaar in Osh to provide her family. When her situation became known to the public, the girl was admitted to the Center for Protection of Children, where she became a trainer. She teaches her peers in difficult life situations how to protect their rights and interests and be active leaders. She taught more than 400 children.
